Spa-Like Sanctuary

KBuild Design created the ultimate place to escape and recharge after a long day in this 187-square-foot master bathroom. As you enter the space, a 71” freestanding tub immediately catches your eye. On the wall behind the tub, rich, wood-look tile wraps up the wall and into the shower from floor to ceiling. The entrance to the shower is seamless with frameless shower glass. The designer created a nice contrast between the wood-look tile on the shower wall and the onyx on the shower floor. A Grohe rain showerhead enhances the sense of tranquility found in the space.

The dark finish on the floating vanities is illuminated by the subtle glow of under-cabinet lights. Atop the vanity sits a large, round ceramic vessel bowl for contrast. Your eye is drawn upward away from the vanity to the mirrors, which also are lit. Tall linen closets have been built out of cabinetry for function.

Why the judges love it:

The application of the tile from floor to ceiling behind the tub is brilliant. This bathroom is well balanced and has a Zen, quiet feel. The sculptural aspects of the lights and the tub add another unique design element.
