Elegant Escape

The homeowners of this 62-square-foot master bath had one simple request for designers Herzog Kitchen & Bath…make it feel like a resort. Given the small square footage of the space, careful thought and planning went into transforming the space into an elegant escape.

For the vanity area, Herzog wanted to create an inviting, clean look. Floor-to-ceiling glitzy mosaic tiles create the backdrop for the area. The textured foil vanity is hung on the wall to allow an open, airy feel.  To enhance the glitz from the mosaic-tiled wall, transparent crystal glass vessel bowls were selected. In the shower, Herzog created the illusion of height by running the field tile vertically. A decorative strip of the mosaic tile ties the shower to the vanity area. To finish the space, the fixtures complement the soft, yet crisp tones in this elegant escape.

Why the judges love it:

The tile detail in this small master bath is outstanding. You can tell the designer and homeowners really thought through the functionality of the space for a well-planned design with lots of storage. The accent-tile design in the shower beautifully ties together the space.
