Inspired by the client’s favorite spa retreats and travel destinations, the design team aimed to create a bath that conveyed a similar sense of ease and serenity. Using symmetry and form, the design uses structured lines and soft curves to create a dynamic composition. An impressive floating vanity anchors the room, introducing a modern feel to classic function. Its warm alder stain, sleek gold hardware and curved alabaster sconces pair dramatically with the exquisite Calacatta Viola on the countertop and shower threshold. The accompanying closet exudes elegant femininity; its soft pink walls, traditional floral wallpaper and a whimsical light fixture create a romantic and elevated space. The marble vanity bridges the two spaces, reinforcing a sense of continuity and cohesion.
Why the judges love it: The judges felt that this bathroom had an elegant material palette and functionality. The floating vanity does well to maintain a sense of scale and equilibrium, while the accompanying closet brings fun personality into the space as a whole.
