The designer’s clients wanted a pool bath for their teen children and, as the client says, “their never ending stream of friends.” At a minimum, the space needed to be large enough for changing and showering. The aim was to create a bygone swim club feel, but bright and current. Starting with the playful wallcovering set the red, white and blue color palette, while the white wainscotting continues the home’s perfectly traditional lines. The flush lighting and plumbing fixtures in an unlacquered brass finish added to its authenticity. 

Why the judges love it:
The client’s inspiration was achieved wonderfully—“she nailed it!” As a pool bathroom, the space was made to be light and fun, with functional details that support its intended purpose.
