This powder bath, sitting right off the kitchen, was reimagined to be a seamless and period-appropriate addition to the rest of the first floor and its color story. Previously utilitarian and dated, the design team sought to refresh this bathroom with fresh yet timeless elements. The surrounding wood floors were carried into the space, bold crown molding was implemented and the radiator removed. Richly-colored wallpaper covers the walls and a moody paint drenches the trim. Mixed metal finishes are like the opulent jewelry of the space. And at the focal point is a bespoke, custom walnut vanity with a decorative backsplash to add a storied feel. A fresh take on an old style, this powder bath has become a beautifully integrated part of a treasured home.  

Why the judges love it:
All elements of the space work in tandem with each other to keep the space looking cohesive and to scale with one another. For example, the curve of the mirror echoes the curve of the vanity, creating a smooth, soft look to match the pastel color palette.
