Rustic Retreat
Located in a rustic area, this master bath captures the natural setting while providing all the modern comforts. Designer Mark Dysart, Marc Christian Fine Cabinetry, added wood paneling and beams to warm up the visual look of the space, while heated flooring enhances physical comfort. The vanity mirrors were built by first building 3” deep framework. LED lighting tape was applied to the frame, then the stacked stone tile backsplash was installed. The mirrors were overlaid on the stone to look as if they are floating.
Flat mosaic pebble tiles are on the shower floor and around the tub, and round pebble tile accents the shower detail. Alder cabinetry was used for the vanities. A freestanding, customized linen cabinet provides ample storage. The freestanding tub sits in front of large, wood-framed windows for the ultimate outdoor viewing. The main shower was created out of a previous closet area with a main showerhead and hand shower added and placed to be accessible from the built-in seat. The master bath is warm, rich and comfortable in the surrounding environment.
Why the judges love it:
We can picture ourselves taking a bath in this space and relaxing. The beams the designer added are so cool, and the stacked stone is gorgeous. We love how the mirrors are hung on the stacked stone.
