Bringing your greens from the outside in brightens and warms any space. Whether the rooms be big or small, the plants short or tall, house plants create an earthy touch to your home or office. These tips and tricks will help keep your decor lively!

You don’t need to have the greenest of thumbs to successfully grow house plants. The trick is to get into a routine and imitate the native climate your plants originate from.

When it comes to your soil, stick to organic potting mixes. They have the perfect mix you need for all indoor plants. Avoid using fertilizer.

Water your plants when the soil is dry two inches deep. Any less than that, you will risk over-watering. Most indoor plants only need a drink a few times a week. Let the water drain out into the sink not a saucer under the pot. In the winter, most interior plants only need water about once or twice a month. Research the needs of each plant to ensure you can make them the healthiest they can be.

Keep them clean- rinsing off the leaves of your plants will clean off any dust and allow the most light to collect on your plant. Make sure you regularly cut off any brown and dead spots.

Sunshine is essential! Check how much each plant needs. Rotate your plants so all sides receive some rays.

The last important aspect is the air quality. Your plants most likely originated from tropical climate. This means humidity will allow your plants to thrive. Increase humidity by running a vaporizer or humidifier. You could also place a saucer of water and pebbles near your group of plants for extra water in the air. Air movement is also important- use fans when you can.
