It is time to set aside anything “holiday” that does not feel just right anymore. Begin this cleansing by thinking carefully and staying connected to your heart. Create a season that honors your past, celebrates today and looks ahead with renewed possibility.

Tip: Write a brief story about your piece and hide it underneath or tie it in place with satin ribbon for guests to read.

Preparing for retirement back in 2014, these longtime West County residents decided to build their “forever home.”  Searching for highly recommended designers, the wife chose Kris Keller, founder and president of The Design Source LTD. The two women developed a wonderful creative synergy, resulting in a lovely custom home that was well-suited to the couple’s new lifestyle.

What do you get when you take a home with great bones and homeowners who wanted to update the home’s interiors to reflect their personalities, and mix those with an innovative design team that can work magic with color and scale?

The end result is this stunning renovation that met the homeowners’ expectations and then some. Kris Keller and Jessica Laurinaitis, along with The Design Source Limited team, were charged with reconfiguring spaces for functionality and creating a new, uplifting color palette for Amy and Paul Inman’s home in Glendale.

First-time visitors to designer Kris Keller’s home are often surprised. Perhaps they expect something classically elegant or ultra-lavish. Or an array of today’s latest design trends. Instead, guests find a living environment that’s as warm and personable as its owner, especially when decorated for the holiday season.

Kris Keller entered the design industry 33 years ago and founded her own firm, The Design Source, eight years later. She readily admits, “At first it was a job, then a career and now it’s my avocation. I feel we’re giving back to the world, supporting the well-being of the people whose lives we’ve touched.” And this 1980s-vintage reverse ranch in Creve Coeur is a prime example of how she interprets that philosophy.
