Creating a space that allows your guests to feel right at home can be simple. Whether you are designing from scratch or remodeling an old room, these guest room tips are great for rooms of all sizes!

The first and most important aspect to a great guest room is a good night’s sleep; this starts with a great bed. A comfortable and well decorated bed is worth investing in and  ensures your guests will feel special. By simply tucking the sheets in tight and topping them with folded layer blankets you add a great deal of cleanliness and texture.

The next key ingredient to a great guest room is decor.  These pieces need to be simple and tasteful. There’s no need to go over the top. A few simple art pieces and a clock on the walls can do the job. In addition, having reading material available in your guest room allows guests something nice to read before a good night’s sleep. Magazines are perfect to flip through rather than phones.

Having storage available for your guest’s luggage is important. Clearing some space in a closet with empty hangers and a few empty drawers in a dresser can help your visitors feel at home and not cluttered

When it comes to furniture, there is no need for a great amount. However, a place to set things beside the bed is essential. A nice decoration on the table top accompanied by a bowl of candy or mints  is a nice way to top it off. Also, placing an extra basket of throws and pillows are nice in case your guests get cold at night.

The next aspect of the perfect guest room is a good smell. Incorporating air fresheners, candles or fresh flowers can add a lot to the space.

Having extra toiletries like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower soaps and lotion laid out is a great way to ensure that the guest feels comfortable and do not have to ask to borrow anything they forgot to pack.
